The republicans made their platform known in Tampa. Amongst all their choice ass claims they had this one:

MARRIAGE:

The platform affirms the rights of states and the federal government not to recognize same-sex marriage. It backs a constitutional amendment defining marriage as the union of one man and one woman.

Yeah they are just blessing this nation with smarts today. I’m not even gonna go into their stances on immigration, abortion, taxes, economic stimulation, gun control, energy, education, or the other piece of shit ideas these conservative dipshits want to promote. Point is that little tidbit of bullshit right there always makes me think of things like this:

For one, I am opposed to negro citizenship gay marriage in any and every form. (Cheers.) I believe this Government was made on the white Christian basis. (“Good.”) I believe it was made by white Christian men for the benefit of white men Christian Families and their posterity for ever, and I am in favor of confining citizenship marriage to white menchristian families, men families of European birth and descent, instead of conferring it upon negroes gays, Indians lesbians, and other inferior races queers.

When people argue that the founding fathers intended the constitution and this country to be formed on christian principles and had no intention to support gay rights or “ruin families” I think of Senator Stephen Douglas arguing that blacks were never intended to have any rights by the same founding fathers these dickheads hold so near and dear to their hating ass hearts. Way to go fuckface, you hold the same dumbass views as an idiot from 1858 did. Someday we’ll be able to abort you too.
