WHO POOTED!

Just reblogging this to add that I don’t think any of these things can be “blamed” on the fact that they’re really young, and I don’t think it’s fair to single out OF. For years now, I’ve been pretty amazed at how BAD rap shows have gotten, even by MCs who have been in the game for decades and are supposed to be professional. Rapping over the actual vocal tracks instead of the instrumental used to be an exception, but now it’s pretty much the norm and it’s a total rarity when rappers don’t do this. Basically, for better or for worse, rap shows now essentially exist so that a rapper’s fans can pay money to be in the same room as them, and the fans mostly seem to be cool with this. I mean, judging by the crowd at all of these OF shows so far, most of them were there just so they could scream all the words to “French”, and they couldn’t give a fuck less what it sounded like.

well this video makes it look like a better performance than it was. Their inexperience showed on stage which is to be expected considering how young all of them are. They were hype as fuck but I’m hoping someone will show them the ropes and teach them how to hold mics, use instrumentals, and get syd some real dj equipment so she can learn to mix, she played dope songs but it was a trainwreck. If they could get those basics down their live should would be so much better. The way it is now is just pure chaos on stage with a bunch of kids screaming in the crowd that they can’t hear shit anyways
given there are a grip of terrible live rap shows but there are rappers who perform well. I’ve never seen a bad David banner show for example. If OF wants to learn how to be hype as shit on stage and still sound decent they need to holler at him. I do think a lot of this can be attributed to their inexperience because of the mistakes they made.
Now going to see raekwon forget all the words to his own songs is a different problem and that show fucking sucked and I have no desire to see Rae ever again. But I’ve seen ghost lay it down proper. I’ve also seen lazy ass rappers half ass a show. I’ve seen rappers also jump in crowds and scream songs into an audience that screamed it back. It’s all on the performer, Chingo Bling is great, Killa Kyloen outperformed Slim Thug just opening for the guy. Freeway and Jacka are awesome together.
yes there are a lot of shitty live rap shows but there enough good ones too. I’m pointed out these things about OF’s show because I think if they can correct those issues their show will benefit from it immensely

Aesop Rock – “Take A Titty Out” (900 Bats)
I can’t decide if this is swag as fuck or really just embarrassing. I mean, it’s obviously tongue in cheek but even tongues and cheeks can be embarrassments in of themselves sometimes. Still the beat kinda knocks. I would not not not be mad if Aesop were to do full length in this vein.
probably the most interesting thing Aesop’s done in a minute. loses it at the end but this could be dope if he expanded on it. Right now it’s bordering on some new shit vs throwback flow

“YOU SAY GUCCI AIN’T A TRAPPER YOU A LYIN ASS NIGGUH!”
I’m a native of Cincy. I believe the reason these two linked up was through plug talk. Gucci signed these Avondale cats to So Icey Midwest or something. I don’t know how intact their relationship is at this point. Young Maggz is dookey doo, but this track knocks. I know, I know….the shitty Dutty Laundry drops. Gucci still rips it. This song was featured on the 2008 Gucci and Young Maggz mixtape, Welcome 2 Gwopp City, but the tape has been removed from DatPiff.com. “Trapp House” was the only worthy track. It was really one of those mixtapes where they say a big artist is on there annnnd they really don’t make much of an appearance.
If you have any interest in stunting to this track the download link is below.
Young Maggz & Gucci Mane – Trapp House
Sidenote: Datpiff has deleted a chunk of Gucci tapes. Like…official ones (ex. From Zone 6 to Duval). Datpiff was used quite a bit before I discovered blogs and before Livemixtapes caught on. DP to me has since become the “decent” last resort site to run to out of desperation for a mixtape if Livemixtapes doesn’t have an available download. I don’t know what the deal is with the tapes being swiped but I suggest if you don’t have certain older Gucci tapes for your archives to google and snatch them up off of active download links quickly. #RareLaFlare.
everything he said
don’t know if gucci will ever get back to that ‘08 level but yeah man this is dope. Maybe if he get’s his sanity back.
I was kind of faced so I probably wouldn’t have remembered anyways. Well unless it was still early. But yeah I don’t care, buy me a beer or something next time.
As for Tall Can, it’s really just about going to a number of spots around the city. 3rd & newcomb for malt liquor, mission spots for randoms, bevmo on van ness and bayview for english beers, just hitting all over and then tell people to bring a 6. Not to hard to get variety when you got a few suppliers.
El Doce De Octubre
slow start but when this starts to bang it’s my fucking shit. Dude’s are playing El Rio tonight so I think that’s where I’m rolling. At least to catch them anyways. Rap show at minna I might end up at tonight.
