Problem with the 80&rsquo;s joints is finding them in good condition. Yes I have a few but I have one that I have to hit just right to get both speakers to play. I really need to take it apart and figure out the problem but I also need to buy a soldering iron so that&rsquo;s on hold.<\/p>\n<p>In the meantime I&rsquo;ve seriously been considering building my own. Fuck just look at this joint, it&rsquo;s not that fucking complicated. Hell the hardest part is building a battery to power it but we have the fucking technology so I might be able to construct one that charges off a laptop power supply. I&rsquo;m still looking into it but ideally I&rsquo;m thinking a boombox made from tinted plexiglass, metal handle, 1 8&quot; sub, 2 6&quot; mids and maybe a pair of small tweeters in the corner with some kind of amp built in to push the motherfucker. I want this shit to be goddamn loud and light as possible but the power logistics are my main issue right now. Considering having it solar powered also.<\/p>\n<p>Think summer time BOOMbox, fuck your battery powered ipod deck.
