awesome animated clip for killer mike’s “reagan”. for all my frustrations about political hip-hop, killa kill gets a million points for laying down the actual factual historical truth about what happened in the 80s that fucked so much of america backwards. no conspiracies (or at least, none that aren’t widely confirmed) and no “illuminati”. everyone that is young and angry should know about the war on drugs and privatized prisons.
we talk a lot because news is an industry and we have to generate conversations, but a lot of the problems in america are ridiculously simple. you don’t need to invoke secret societies or complex economic theory. killer mike lays it out pretty nicely: when you create a way for people to get rich off of putting young black men in jail, more young black men will end up in jail.
shout out to mr. lif and akrobatik’s “memorial day,” the hook of which is “WHERE ARE THE WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION?
